Mike Allen, Director

His broadcasting experience began with Armed Forces Radio & TV in Panama some 35 years ago. After returning to civilian life, working at a PBS station, and graduating from the University of Washington, Allen spent several years as a producer/director at the CBS affiliate in Seattle. In 1979 he moved to this area after being hired to direct the television coverage of the House floor proceedings. Since August of last year, he has had the pleasure of being the Director of the Office of Communications Media.

Alex Cusati, Engineering Operations Manager

A Virginia resident with thirty-six years of electronics experience in radar, 2-way communications and broadcast television engineering. The past nineteen years I have managed the daily operations of the House floor coverage and Recording Studio, by providing evaluation, quality control and reliability to meet the NTSC broadcast standards.

Regina Allen, Camera Operator

Specializing in Radio/Television, I graduated from Radford University in 1988 with a degree in Communications Media. In October 1988, 1 started as a production assistant in the House Recording Studio... now the Office of Communications Media. Currently a television camera operator, I must say that my eight years working on Capitol Hill have been quite a learning experience.

Rick Hughes, Senior Audio Specialist

Rick is a Washington native and graduated The American University with a B.A. in Broadcasting in 1976. He came to the Studio as an intern in the summer of 1976 and returned as a full-time staffer in our Audio Department in April 1977.

Rick began his career in audio as a sound engineer for area churches and music groups. During college he produced and engineered custom jingles, ad copy and albums at Castle Sound Productions, Abilene,Texas and in his own studio in Washington, D.C.

At the Studio, Rick is responsible for all live and recorded audio production in our television studios, radio studios and the television coverage of House Floor Proceedings. He is also our primary satellite coordinator and assists the engineering staff with equipment requirements, installation and maintenance.

In his free time, Rick continues his interest in music by working as a sound tech with top area jazz musicians in the Eric Felton Jazz Orchestra, a thirteen piece band featuring music of the Big Band era.

David Clipsham, Electronics Technician

Electronic technician operates maintains and installs the video equipment used to televise the house floor proceedings and studio feeds to various broadcasting stations. Formerly a radio announcer and volunteer fireman. Hobbies include photography and model railroading.

Patrick Hirsch, Camera Operator

Pat graduated with a degree in radio and television production from San Francisco State University in 198 1. He then worked at nearly every position at an AM/FM radio station in Sacramento, California for seven years. At this time, Pat also freelanced for a video production house and ran the audio system for Arco arena. He has worked for the House of Representatives Recording Studios since 1990 . His current duties include camera operations, audio, C.G.,and floor directing, along with some directing, switching,and editing responsibilities, with a total of 15 years of professional audio/video experience.

Dan Hornak, Senior Camera Operator

Senior camera operator Dan Hornak is a native.....IS A NATIVE OF MICHIGAN. HE HOLDS A BACHELOR DEGREE IN COMMUNICATIVE ARTS AND SCIENCES FROM WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY AND A BACHELOR DEGREE IN TELEVISION AND FILM FROM GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY. TEN YEARS AGO HE STARTED HIS CAREER AT WHAT WAS THEN THE HOUSE RECORDING STUDIO (NOW THE OFFICE OF COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA).

WHAT HE ENJOYS MOST ABOUT HIS JOB IS THE PEOPLE HE WORKS WITH IN HIS OFFICE AND THOSE OF THE MANY DEPARTMENTS AND SHOPS THAT ARE DEDICATED TO SERVING CONGRESS.

David Wayne Myers, Electronics Technician

David has worked for the House for 17 years, working between the House Recording Studio, located in the Rayburn building, and as a principal engineer of House Floor Coverage located in the Capitol Building. He is currently responsible for operating both facilities, including equipment repair and maintenance.

Art Nash, Electronic Technician

A Native Washingtonian with 31 years of electronics experience in two-way communications and broadcast television. For the past 17 years he has been vital to daily operations of House floor coverage and Members' programming from the House Recording Studio.

Patricia Anne Rouse, Audio Specialist

An Audio Specialist in the Office Communications Media for five years. Patricia's duties include operating audio equipment when the House of Representatives is in session and producing radio programming for Members of Congress. She also has experience as a camera operator and technical director. When not working on Capitol Hill, she does freelance work at various television stations and production companies.

Gary J. Denick , Production Operations Manager

After graduating from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1972 with a Bachelors Degree in Radio/TV/Film, Gary served his country in the U.S. Army where he was involved in television at Ft. Dix, N.J., and Seoul, Korea. After the service he worked at a PBS station and for two years at the Department of Energy. In 1978 he came to Capitol Hill, where for the past 18 and a half years he has done just about everything involved with Congressional TV productions. Gary is the Production Operations Manager responsible for the daily direction of the House floor Coverage.

Patrick Kenealy, Administrative Staff Assistant

With a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Pat began working in this office in 1984. Mainly responsible for Member accounts and inquiries, he also provides administrative and computer support to the Engineering and Production Staff.

Daniel S. Tilson, Character Generator Operator

Born in SW Virginia, Dan began work in 1966 in a small town as a disc jockey after school and on weekends. he continued to work as a DJ full time after graduation, and became an engineer at the Blue Ridge Public Television station in Roanoke in 1989. In 1993, Dan was hired as an audio specialist in the House Recording Studio. His current duties include character generation and remote camera operation for House floor coverage.
