What are the guidelines for holding a press conference in the House Press Gallery?

Any Member can hold a press conference in the House Press Gallery. Professional staff may also participate in press briefings held in the Gallery. However, no individual representing an outside organization or association may hold a press conference in the Gallery. We do not allow TV cameras in the Gallery, but stills may be used without flash. It is suggested that Members call ahead of time so that they can make announcements and the Gallery staff can prepare for their press conference.
