Marriott-MMS is a division of Marriott
International, one of the pioneers of the
Foodservice Industry, (starting back in
1927, the year Charles Lindbergh flew
solo over the North Atlantic) with a
humble A&W Root Beer franchise
located in Washington DC. J.Willard Marriott, founder of the Company, fell in love with our Nation's Capital, and expanded his Restaurant business with neighborhood Hot Shoppes® restaurants and pioneered in-flight feeding when serving air carriers based at Washington National Airport in the 1930's. Marriott Hotels & Resorts soon followed in the 1950's, and Courtyard®, Residence Inns®, & Fairfield Inns ®, in the 1980's & 1990's. The company has also expanded into the Contract foodservice field, catering to our Nation's (and now internationally) leading Health Care accounts, Colleges and Universities, and Corporate Clients (both private sector and government). Marriott is also involved with Senior Living Services and Vacation Time sharing. Marriott International currently employs
200,000 associates around the globe,
serving more than four million meals daily
along with purchasing $1.7 billion in
groceries annually! | Thompson Hospitality L.P., is a relative
newcomer to the world of Foodservice.

when he acquired 31 Bob's Big Boy
restaurants from Marriott Corporation it

to become one of the largest black-owned
