Payroll Certifications


Following the close of each pay period, the Payroll Department distributes to each employing authority a Payroll Certification listing the names of each individual assigned to that office and the amount of salary paid to each employee in the previous pay period.

In addition, each Member office is required to designate at least one employee as a "Principal Assistant" according to Ethics in Government Act of 1978. If no employee in your office is paid at or above 120% of the Executive Branch GS-15 level (currently $83,160), you must designate such a person. If this is the case, an additional form will be attached to your monthly Payroll Certification. This completed form should be returned to the Legislative Resource Center, 1036 Longworth House Office Building.

The signed monthly Payroll Certification should be returned to the Office of Finance, 263 Cannon House Office Building by the fifteenth of every month. If you have any questions pertaining to this report, please contact your Payroll Counselor.
